Class size: 1-6 people maximum

Approximate class length: 3 hours plus
Quick notes: Arrive on time and come prepared. Make sure you bring everything you need with you in order to paint. Some supplies will be provided as mentioned below. If you are missing any supplies, be sure to inform the instructor when signing up for the class. Call us right away so we can set aside the items you require. Contact info listed at the bottom.
Each person is expected to bring with them or purchase beforehand the following hobby supplies:
10 pre primed but unpainted models, 1 of which should be a larger model, like a tank or monster. (Priming assistance can be acquired the prior week before the class.)
Extra water pot
model holder/ handle(s)
a notepad and writing utensil or a tablet or smartphone to take notes with is acceptable as well.
This class will be broken down into three 1 hour segments with time for questions and clean-up where needed. This class can run long. Please keep that in mind.
Part 1: The Airbrush Tool and Hand Exercises.
We will completely break down all the parts and pieces for your airbrush as well as its supporting elements. Understanding your airbrush is the most important step. We will also go over proper cleaning of your airbrush so you know what to do and not do when something inevitable goes wrong. After that we will start to practice painting.
Part 2: Basic Brush control (hands on and visual demonstration)
Here we will go over how to properly thin acrylic paints and practice using the airbrush along with our palette to see the right way to treat the airbrush. Also, we will cover troubleshooting techniques and simple hand exercises to help with brush control.
Part 3: Multiple Layers (hands-on and finished examples)
Finally you will use your air brush to apply the first coats of paint to your models. As they dry, before you switch colors, you will quickly clean the airbrush allowing the next paint to flow as easily as possible. This step can take the longest and we will only move as quickly as the slowest person to give everyone ample time to properly grasp each step. This may make the class run long. So please plan the rest of your day accordingly.
Closing & Cleanup Process
We will need at least 10 minutes for packing up and clean-up so our work stations have time to be safely disinfected before the store opens to the public. Please pay attention to the instructor for clean-up times during the end of the class.
