Got a pile of rusty scrap metal that just happens to be an Ork?
GOOD. DAT'S EXACTLY WHAT WE'RE LOOKIN' FOR!
Join us for Paintin' Rusty Stuff, a hands-on ORKtober hobby workshop all about getting your miniatures looking old, beat-up, neglected, and properly Orky!
We'll start with the basics of miniature painting, covering general practices and techniques to help you get your model looking great. Then we'll dive headfirst into one of the most important skills for an Ork hobbyist:
We'll explore multiple ways to create convincing rust and weathering effects, from subtle surface wear to big, chunky patches of corrosion. You'll get plenty of time to try out the different techniques yourself and see what works best for your models.
Every participant will receive ONE Warhammer 40,000 Ork model, already primed and ready to paint.
You'll have the entire workshop to practice the techniques we're covering and experiment with different ways to make your Ork look like it's been stompin' through the battlefield for years!
Paints, brushes, and other hobby supplies will be provided for the workshop and are expected to be returned when the class is finished.
You're welcome to bring your own favorite brushes and hobby supplies if you'd like to work with your personal equipment.
You may also bring a few models from home to practice on, but we ask that you keep this to a minimum so you have plenty of room to work with your workshop model.
Whether you're looking to start your first Ork army, finally learn how to paint your pile of gray plastic, or simply want to add some new weathering tricks to your hobby toolbox, this workshop is a great opportunity to learn, practice, and get your models looking properly battle-worn.
By the end of the afternoon, you'll have a freshly painted Ork, some new hobby skills, and hopefully a newfound appreciation for just how much rust you can put on something before it stops being metal.
GRAB A BRUSH. GRAB SOME PAINT. GET READY TO MAKE SOME STUFF RUSTY!
WAAAGH!
