Golden Rhino Games opened on August 1st of 2020, smack dab in the middle of the Pandemic and Michigan lockdowns. What I thought would be an impossible challenge proved to be possible, all thanks to our customers and their never-ending support. Here at Golden Rhino Games, we strive to provide everyone with an equal opportunity to be part of our community. It is essential to me that we can provide a safe space for our community members to call their home away from home. Whether that is for role-playing games, board games, trading card games, or even tabletop war games.
Every person who comes through our doors is a welcome member and encouraged to join us at the table for an experience to escape from the worries and fears of day-to-day life. For a moment, it looked like all of that would come crashing down, thanks in part to the overwhelming costs from tariffs. I had to make the hard decision to look my dream in the eye and know that closing the store was the only route possible. What I didn’t account for was my community standing up and declaring that was not an option! As the saying goes, vote with your wallet. And you all did just that. The year 2025 will go down in history as the year that almost broke us, but thanks to customers like you, we pulled through and are still open and able to provide that safe space for you. What I thought was a barrier that couldn’t be broken, you smashed through and helped carry us to safer ground. In just one month, we were able to clear all of our back debts and look at 2026 with a feeling of hope.
I could have never done it without you, and for that, we dedicate April as our Customer Appreciation month!
I will always look forward to the next events, new product releases, smiling faces, and big epic moments! But I'll never forget the year you saved our store. Legends live forever, but Heroes never die. Thank you all for the amazing amount of support over the years. We will continue to be here thanks to each and every one of you. A promise we hope to keep for generations to come.
